Labuan Bajo is a small town whose tourism industry has taken a big step in recent years with the opening of Komodo Airport. The city is the port of entry to the stunning Komodo Islands within Komodo National Park. Spend two days in town to explore the 11 must do things in Labuan Bajo, Flores.
1. Discover Local Life
Life outside of town in Labuan Bajo is simple, but see for yourself. Rent a motorbike and drive around the village. Look forward to the surprised faces of the people who live there, and a friendly smile as you wave your hand is their friendly response. One of our favorite things about Komodo was trying to mingle with the locals.
Tip: Motorbike rental fee is about 60,000 rupiah (US$4) per day.
2. Komodo National Park Boat Tour
Spending one night or more on board the boat, waking up in the middle of the national park, enjoying delicious local cuisine and escaping the tourist crowds is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. 3. Secret Viewpoints in Labuan Bajo
You don’t have to visit the Komodo Islands to get great views. It’s a 30-minute motorbike ride out of town, through the surrounding villages and on dusty roads, offering beautiful views. It is the right position.
4. Visit Rangko Cave in Labuan Bajo
Langko Cave is a hidden gem relatively close to Labuan Bajo. The deep blue water in the cave has a lot of salt and floats quickly.
1.5 hours by motorbike to the pier and boat to the cave. Worth a visit!
5. Relax at Le Pirate Rooftop Pool
Labuan Bajo has several great places to hang out, relax and spend the day. One of those locations is Le Pirate’s rooftop pool. Enjoy delicious drinks and delicious snacks while taking in the beautiful views of the harbor.
6. Tastiest Sushi
If you love fresh fish, you have to dine at Happy Banana. The name doesn’t look very promising, but this sushi restaurant serves fish of incredible quality.
7. Taste Italy at La Casuna

8. Discover the town of Labuan Bajo
Labuan Bajo is a small town that can be reached in 30 minutes on foot. Peep the small side streets off the main street and stroll along the waterfront boulevard.
9. Stairway to Heaven
The best place to watch the sunset near Labuan Bajo town is Stairway to Heaven, also known as Bukit Cinta. An 8 minute drive from town and walking distance to the stairs.
10. Eat fresh fish in market
Enjoy fresh and affordable fish at small stalls. The market opens daily just after sunset.
11. Breakfast & Coffee
The best coffee and breakfast place in Labuan Bajo is Bajo Bakery. It has a fair amount of space and they even offer wifi if you really need it.
