Nusa Penida is one of Bali’s major highlights. Tourism on Nusa Penida Island has grown exponentially with places like Kelingking Beach and Angel’s Billabong. Join a Nusa Penida day tour from Bali or explore the entire island on a 3-day Nusa Penida trip. These are 19 best things to do in Nusa Penida.

1. Diamond Beach

Diamond Beach in Nusa Penida, on the opposite side of the Atuh Beach cliffs, is one of the world’s most picturesque beaches.
This sightpoint is a great place to see Diamond Beach. You can also visit the beach via the newly built (in 2018) staircase. Due to currents at this beach, swimming is not recommended.

2. Swim at Atuh Beach

The eastern tip of Nusa Penida is home to perhaps two of Bali’s most beautiful beaches. Atuh is a small beach that is slightly hidden due to two high cliffs on either side. To get to the beach, you have to walk up stairs for about 10 minutes.

3. Teletubbies Hill

Teletubbies Hill is a great place to watch the sunset in the area. A myriad of gently rounded hills of grass gave it its name.

4. Kelinking, T Rex Viewpoint

Kelinking and Kelinking Beach make Nusa Penida more popular. From the viewing platform at the top, you can descend to perhaps the hardest-to-reach beach in Bali. The walk to the beach takes around 40 minutes.

5. Tembeling Beach

A five-minute walk from the natural pools, this white sand beach is the place to relax for a few hours. Don’t forget to check out the secret beach across the bay as well.

6. Tembeling Natural Pool

Tembering is one of Penida’s best kept secrets and one of our favorite activities in Nusa Penida. A freshwater pool hidden in the jungle is a beautiful blue gem.
This is a bike-only area. You can combine this with West Nusa Penida Tour.

7. Banah Cliff Point

A peculiar sunset spot on Island is Banner Cliff Point. Like Tembeling, it is located on the west side of Nusa Penida and is relatively accessible.

8. Stay at Rumah Pohon Treehouse

This hotel offers a unique perspective just 5 minutes from Atuh Beach. Perched on a small cliff, he has three treehouses, surrounded almost 360 degrees by the sea, offering the best views.

9. Peguyanan Waterfall

There is a high altitude hike head on the southeast cliff of Nusa Penida. The path is a 150 meter long iron blue staircase that takes you to the bottom of the cliff and reveals the most beautiful areas. At the foot there is a temple and a small waterfall with fresh water. But the views from the hike are much more spectacular.

10. Thousand Islands Viewpoint

Thousand Islands Viewpoint overlooks the entire east coast of Nusa Penida. It’s in the same location as the treehouse. The views of 200-meter-high cliffs and white sandy beaches are fleeting.

11. Underground Temple: Goa Giri Putri

Goa Giri Putri Temple is located in North Penida. Religious sights are visited by many Balinese people. The entrance is quite impressive and to access it you have to pass through a small opening between the rocks.

12. Diving Nusa Penida

New diving resorts are opening in Nusa Penida every month. Train at a resort or open water and eventually get your PADI!

13. Penida Colada

There are many good restaurants in Nusa Penida. A relaxing hidden gem in the north is Penida Colada. Enjoy delicious food and drinks at the beachfront restaurant.

14. Crystal Bay, a must-watch in Nusa Penida

A beautiful bay surrounded by palm trees, perfect for snorkeling and watching the sunset. There is a small island just in front of the bay with a temple on the top that you can also visit.

15. Angel’s Billabong

Nusa Penida’s second most popular activity is the natural infinity pool called Angel’s Billabong. Dive into the ultra-clear water. Be careful not to get too close to the edge of the pool as the sea can flood and create dangerous situations.

16. Manta Rays and Snorkeling

Manta Point on Nusa Penida is a guaranteed place to see manta rays. Take a boat here and enjoy snorkeling with these giants. Indonesia has amazing marine life, especially around the Komodo Islands.

17. Suwehan Beach

With its clean white sands and refreshing sea breeze, Suwehan Beach is worth a visit. You can swim, but be careful of strong currents.

18. Broken Beach

A striking little cove near Angels Billabong is called Broken Beach. Cross the bridge made by nature. Unfortunately, you cannot visit the beach there.

19. Stay in Beautiful Bungalows

Accommodation on Penida Island ranges from simple homestays and guesthouses to beautiful bungalows and large hotels. Stay in a beautiful bungalow (like La Roja) on Nusa Penida and enjoy all the comforts of Penida.
