Malang in Indonesia is a city in the upper part of East Java. The climate is much more comfortable than Yogyakarta, with refreshing mountain breezes. Malang is mainly used as a perfect stopover before heading to Bromo Volcano. 1. Tumpak Sewu Waterfall
It is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Indonesia is Tumpak Sewu. The name means Thousand Waterfalls and the name is totally fair. A 120-meter-tall waterfall cascades down 180 degrees from all sides. The waterfall is easy to see from above and is a fairly difficult hike to walk. 2. Rainbow Village: Jodipan
The most interesting place in Malang is Jodipan. The entire village is a slum and virtually abandoned. The students came up with the idea of painting everything bright rainbow colors to attract tourists. Shortly after the Air Force painted the entire village in June 2016, tourists spotted this Rainbow Village on a railroad bridge.
3. Coban Putri
A small waterfall and two cool viewpoints. Coban Putri is a small natural water park where locals hang out and relax on weekends. Go on weekdays to avoid many tourists.
4. Kampung Biru Arema (Blue Village)
A brand new project on the other side of the railway bridge is the blue village of Malang. In April 2018, they started painting the Kampung Vil Arema Blue, bringing color and attention to the village.

5. Visit Bromo from Malang
Bromo Vulcano is one of the Java root highlights. Visit the crater and watch the sunrise over Bromo. A day tour from Malang to Bromo can be arranged. A better option is to stay near Bromo and follow the road to IJen Crater.

6. Bukit Kuneer Tea Plantation
A long time ago, during the Dutch colonial period, products such as coffee, tea, tobacco and rubber were introduced to the Malang region. This was possible due to its cool climate. This was one of the biggest surprises in Malang.
Bukit Kuneer tea plantation is located in Batu near Malang. It’s a beautiful area just to enjoy the scenery, with a short footbridge through the fields. Admission to the site is IDR 12,000 per person. Walk 30 minutes from the parking lot or hop on the back of your bike.
7. Angkut Museum
One thing you wouldn’t expect to find in Indonesia is the Transport Museum. Museum Angkut has a huge collection of airplanes, vintage cars, traditional modes of transportation and more. It was a fun place to hang out, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you really like theme park style places.
The museum is he open from 12:00 to 20:00 and tickets are around IDR 60,000 he. If you bring your own camera, you will have to pay an additional IDR 30,000.
8. Coban Rondo Falls
Coban Rondo is the another beautiful waterfall in this area . You can see the powerful waterfall with a height of about 80 meters from your feet. Coban Rondo The surrounding area is a beautiful park.
9. Coban Rondo Labrinth
In the same park there is a small Labrinth. If you want to have a little fun with Indonesian people. Go to this place and try to reach the center as soon as possible.
